Chicago KHUSA Volunteers Recognized
U-46 Announces 2017 Volunteer of the Year
Event acknowledges dedicated volunteers
School District U-46 hosted the 20th annual Volunteer Reception Tuesday to celebrate the many people who generously donated their time and talents this school year. During the event, U-46 CEO Tony Sanders named Kids Hope USA as the 2017 Volunteers of the Year.
“This award recognizes the very special and significant impact Kids Hope USA makes in the lives of students across our District,” said U-46 CEO Tony Sanders. “We can’t thank these volunteers enough for the resources and support they have provided our schools and our students.”
Kids Hope USA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to working one-on-one with students through the creation of a church-school partnership which matches a mentor to a student who needs additional support. The 133 volunteers in School District U-46 spend at least one hour a week reading, talking, and playing with (133) students in 13 schools.
