Mentoring Moments – June 2017
Celebrating the highlights so that together, we can be inspired to continue reaching out to those around us and bringing light into each other’s lives.
“I’ve been mentoring a little lady since she was in 2nd grade and she’s heading into middle school this year! It’s been such a meaningful and impactful experience being a part of the Kids Hope ministry. We had a great time at the end of the year party and she was so excited about her brand new backpack! Love this outreach program, it’s truly a great way to pour love into children who need it!”

“It wasn’t my regular session, but I had to stop at school for something. I saw my Kids Hope student in the hallway. We had missed our previous session because she was sick. Her face lit up when she saw me, but she said, ‘I don’t know if I can see you tomorrow – I have a dentist appointment. And we missed last week when I was sick.’
I went to our mentoring session the following day, and there she was. I told her I was surprised, and she responded, ‘I told my grandmother we just had to reschedule my dentist appointment, so she did.’ I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to postpone dental appointments, but it was nice to see my girl again!”

“My son works with a gentleman named Duane. I am so very pleased with everything that he has done for my son. He looks forward to seeing him every Wednesday. He has helped my son to smile and to be a happy boy again.”
