The Kids Hope USA director:
The Program Director anchors the program at the church and serves as the key liaison with the school. The Director provides supervision and support for volunteers while assuring school staff and teachers that the program will run smoothly during the academic year. The Director will be representing Christ and the church to the school and receive a front-row seat to meaningful life-change through mentoring.
1. Set Your Vision
Filling the Program Director role helps to set a positive trajectory for your relationship with the school and the success of the program.
Before you begin, pray for God to bring the right Director(s) to your program. Then, consider who you want to serve in that role. How are you hoping this program impacts your church or organization? Your school? Your community?

Determine who would be a solid fit for the Program Director roles on your staff or team of key volunteers. Who comes to mind when reading the Director job description?
Having two co-directors can help lighten the load and can be a fun opportunity to work together. There is no additional cost to train another Director for your program. Tip: Many programs have experience success in having a paid staff member and a volunteer serve as co-directors!
