Church Testimonials

Kids Hope USA has created a higher bar of commitment. The program makes it as easy and clear for you as possible, but you’ve got to have some skin in the game. This higher bar of commitment has helped us, and maybe even raised our level of commitment in other areas.

I like the concept of one-on-one.  Pouring into one child and building a personal relationship with them that could help build the trajectory of their life.  As a Director, I like seeing break throughs with the other mentor/mentee.  Many start out slow, but when the relationship blossoms, it’s heartwarming.
Director
I mentor because when I was a kid, I wished someone could have talked and listened to me.
Mentor
I love being a Kids Hope USA director because it’s helped me to build awesome relationships in the community that my church is in, not just with kids, but I’ve gotten to know families and staff members at the school that have become close friends. How the community comes around to support these kids is really beautiful.
Director
I mentor because in this broken world, I believe it takes a village to raise a kid. The more caring people a child has surrounding them, the better chance they have to find peace, contentment, and purpose (and so much more)..
Mentor
Having our mentors in the schools – seeing the dedication, the hard work – it just really helps them to grow in their perspective of how Jesus sees the community.

School Testimonials

Principal

We’re so proud of the Kids Hope USA program for helping us build a sense of community with children. Helping them to know they are special, that someone else cares about them, and that they have a trusted adult that comes in just to talk to them and spend some quality time.

Superintendent

We have seen that each time the relationship between a student and mentor deepens, school behaviors and academic work significantly improve. Our students thoroughly enjoy and greatly appreciate the time they spend with their mentors each week.

Teacher

My student comes from difficult home life and has not been taught how to interact with others. Playing games and having one-on-one time helped him learn turn-taking skills and how to be kind to others.

Social WOrker

I can’t say enough how exciting it is to see Kids Hope USA mentors come into the building and meet with the students, because the students are so excited. They know what day their mentor comes and they look forward to it.

Assistant Principal

I really think it’s one of the most significant things we do here. It’s one of the programs that has the most impact on our students as a whole.

Teacher

What a mentor means to me is another layer of social and emotional support that some students need. It’s someone they look forward to seeing. It is a positive adult relationship that they have in their life.

Student Testimonials

The thing about having a mentor…

is it just helps me get away from what’s happening and help me calm down.

I like my mentor because…

we have fun and we play together. She is nice, funny, and a good listener. She helps me be a good friend.

I’m really glad I have my mentor with me…

She’s a really good influence and she makes me feel better about myself. Every time I’m feeling down, she always cheers me up.

The thing I like most about having a mentor is that…

I have somebody I can talk to. The best things we do together is play games and talk about stuff.

I like my mentor because…

he’s fun, nice, he tries to be funny, and he is a good listener. We like to play cards, dots, and we like to sit outside. I like to teach him stuff. Spending time with him helps me get a lot off my mind.

My favorite day of the week…

is Wednesday because that is when my mentor comes!
