He/She Statements

Help your child to begin this year with the END of the year in mind with this simple activity. To explain this activity to your child think about some famous people and come up with one statement that describes that person. For example, when you think about President Lincoln you might say, “He was an honest person.” Or, if you think about Carrie Underwood you might say, “She was a winner on American Idol.” After your child gets the hang of making he/she statements about famous people ask them to think about a statement for themself. At the END of this school year, what do they want classmates to say about him/her if they were writing a statement. Maybe it is “He tried hard in class,” or “She was kind to everyone”. Help your child write this statement down, and then check in throughout the year to see how they are doing on making this statement a reality!
