Kids Hope Prayer Guide
Philippians 4:6- Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
For the Students: that they would know they are still loved and valued and cared for by their teachers and mentors and have not been abandoned; that they would have full bellies; that God would give them creative ideas for how to safely and wisely spend the hours of their day at home.
Psalm 17:6- I call on you, my God, for you will answer me; turn your ear to me and hear my prayer.
For the Teachers: that they would be able to trust and be content with the boundaries set in place by their superiors; that God would give them creative ideas for interacting with their students through technology; that they would find a balance between continuing to work hard for their students and also delighting in this bonus time for rest at home with their family.
1 Chron 16:11- Look to the Lord and His strength, seek His face always.
For the School Leaders and Counselors/Social Workers: that principals would seek Godly wisdom on how to best counsel their teachers and their students during this stressful, confusing time; that God would give school leadership the wisdom required to make the best decisions for their schools moving forward; that school counselors and social workers would be empathetic to the concerns of students and families and have wisdom in how to best serve them.
Psalm 145:18- The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
For the Parents: that God would provide the food, money, energy, patience, child-care, and love required for taking care of their families during the coming days of uncertainty.
Ephesians 6:18 – And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
For the Church Leaders: That God would give them wisdom to lead their congregations through an unprecedented time; that they would deliver the messages that God would want delivered to the people; that technology will assist them in reaching more people with the Gospel than ever; that God would provide the financial provision necessary to fully cover the ongoing expenses of the church.
1 Thessalonians 5:17-18- Pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
For the Mentors and their Families: that they would be prompted to pray for their students each day, for peace and protection over their health and the health of their families; that they would have a way to send a message to their students to encourage them during this time; that they use this extra time to plan some amazing activities to do with their students in the future.
1 John 5:14- This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
For the Prayer Partners and their Families: that they would be reminded that their prayers are powerful and effective and our first point of action as believers; that they would be faithful to continue in prayer for their mentor and student; for the health and protection of our prayer partners and their families.
Colossians 4:2- Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.
For Healthcare Workers: that God would protect their health, including their mental health, and the health of their families; that they would have adequate rest, stamina, and a supernatural infusion of compassion; God’s wisdom in decision making; and adequate supplies necessary to combat this virus.
1 Timothy 2:1-2- I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
For Decision Makers: that our national, state, and local leaders and all those making decisions related to public health and safety would be strengthened and encouraged; that God would give them wisdom as they work together to protect His people.
